Courage Is... - The Strange Familar
"Courage is when you're afraid,
But you keep on moving anyway
Courage is when you're in pain,
But you keep on living anyway
We all have excuses why
Living in fear something in us dies
Like a bird with broken wings
It's not how high he flies,
But the song he sings "
This song reflects to 2009 because we need to step outside of our persona of what we know. Courage isnt only about being strong and showing your not scared. It should be about something more, something greater. The stanza "Its not how high he fliea, but the song he sings" can reflect into my life in 2009 because I remeber how in the bigging I would show off on what I had, but then I realized it didnt matter if I had this or that all that matters is who I am and what I can do.
My Guardian Angel - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
"I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven"
This song reflects to 2009 because everyone should feel like they have a guardian angel. Last year I found mines. It made me feel really special because when I was down this person saw what I was going through and she helped me. She told me some and powerful words, that made me feel special eventhough I had felt like crap that day. She's one of the only people I know that will always be there for me. The line that says " I will never let you fall" reminds me of what she told me, that day.
Say - John Mayer
"You'd better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again"
This song reflects to 2009 because I had honestly so many opertunities to say whats on my mind and not let people judge me, but I blow it and had people talk about me behind my back. I also didnt say what I need to say to someone very special in my heart and that person drifted away. What that stanza says is all true, because no matter how much it might hurt the other person, when you have something truthful and important to say, its better to say it at that moment. In the long run your going to regret it.
We Are Golden - Mika
"Teenage dreams in a teenage circus
Running around like a clown on purpose
Who gives a damn about the family you come from?
No giving up when you're young and you want some"
This song reflects to 2009 because as teenagers we make a lot of mistakes, but at the same time we just want to have fun. So while people think there mistakes we are actually doing some of them on purpose and some leave an imprint in us. Also people care to much and its also saying "Who cares?" It doesnt matter at the end we all do what we want to get what we want. The stanza reminds me of me and my friends in 2009 because we would make complete fools of ourself. Sometimes it was on purpose other times by accident, even just to have fun. We never cared what people said or thought.
Waiting On The World To Change - John Mayer
"Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want
That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change"
This song reflects to 2009 because with all the "important" celebrity gossip, people really forgot about the important celebrities which are never recognized. I'm talking about our soldiers, doctors, firefighters, etc. People should realize that there really the people we should be looking up to, and not celebrities who the most they'll contribute will probably be give a fur coat to goodwill. Also this song represents that we should change the world ourself and not listens to people telling us how we should change it, we should do it ourself.
